A refund is generated when a student has more credits to their account than debits. The refund is handled and processed through a 3rd party servicer, Sallie Mae, Inc.
Generally speaking, refunds are processed once per week (more often at the very beginning of the semester, weaning down to once per week after the semester starts) and the funds are sent to the student. The funds are normally sent to the account set up in the student's Direct Deposit. If you have no bank account or are unbankable it is possible to receive a paper check. It is imperative that each student has a bank account linked through their direct deposit on eSIS for the processing of these refunds.
If you are unable to obtain a bank account and have been told you are not bankable, please call the Financial Aid and Student Billing Service Counter at (715) 425-4111.
The refund schedule below can be used for calculating the refund of tuition and fees based on the session length and time point in the period when the withdrawal or drop occurred. The amount owed or the refund due is based on total charges rather than the amount paid to date.
*Refunds are based on total FEES CHARGED rather than amount paid.
