COMPARE/CONTRAST ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE
Unlike in the informational presentation, a compare/contrast presentation can have several options for organizational structure.  You must choose one of these and organize your presentation based on that structure.

  • Subject-by-subject
    • Organization:
      • Section 1 – introduction with “hook” and preview
      • Section 2 – All information about the first topic
      • Section 3 – all information about the second topic
      • Section 4 – conclusion
  • Point-by-point:
    • Organization:
      • Section 1 – introduction with “hook” and preview
      • Section 2 – one point with both aspects
      • Section 3 – second point with both aspects
      • Section 4 – third point with both aspects
      • Section 5 - conclusion
  • Explain – compare – contrast
    • Organization:
      • Section 1 – introduction with “hook” and preview
      • Section 2 – background/explanation of both aspects
      • Section 3 – similarities of both aspects
      • Section 4 – differences of both aspects
      • Section 5 – conclusion
