UWRF Career Services would like to invite you to participate in the 2012 Career Fair. The Career Fair is open for all UWRF Students and Alumni.
What is the Career Fair?
The Career Fair is an excellent way for students to network with employers from a variety of organizations and graduate schools. Students benefit from attending by gathering information on organizations and possible job or internship opportunities, and by enhancing professional communications skills from speaking with company representatives. Many students obtain jobs or internships as a result of attending the Career Fair.

- Obtain information from employers and graduate schools
- Network directly with professionals in your field of interest
- Find information to assist you in choosing a career path or industry in which you would like to work
- Target a specific organization that interests you
- Learn about career opportunities, internships, or summer positions from a diverse group of employers

- Develop business etiquette and professional attitude
- If graduating, find assistance making the transition from college to a profession
Career Fair Pointers:
- Research the organizations - learn about the Attending Organizations
- Update your resume and prepare your 30-second commercial
- Dress professional - recruiters remember those who are dressed for success
- Prepare for the fair
- Introduce yourself with a firm handshake and smile
- Inform the recruiter what you are looking for and your qualifications
- Actively listen to what the recruiter is saying while maintaining eye contact
- Get business cards and literature with company information and what they offer
- Offer your resume or professional portfolio
- If the employer interests you, ask what the next steps are
- Discuss how and when to follow-up
- Ask who to contact with questions
- Thank them for their time - be gracious
