Resources are provisioned based on HR appointments. Faculty and staff must have a current or future dated HR appointment to receive the technology resources listed below.
Resources are provisioned based on the Students affiliation with the university. Only current students are granted access to technology resources.
Guest of the University would include volunteers, visiting professors, auditors and any other non-payroll persons. To request access to technology resources, complete and submit the Guest Access form.
Graduate Assistant students who are also employed may experience the inability to login to certain accounts such as workstations, lab computers, eSIS, etc, and not realize they have two different email accounts. The reason for this is that in eSIS Graduate Assistants are considered employees and students. However according to eSIS, the employee account is the primary account. So in reality, these students have two different email accounts:
One that ends in @my.uwrf.edu
One that ends in @uwrf.edu
These email accounts are accessed in two different places.
@uwrf.edu (OWA employee account using falcon account username and psw) accessed here
@my.uwrf.edu (Student account using email address as username and Falcon Account psw) accessed here![]()
DoTS suggests two things: (to make life easier)
• Change the falcon account password (if you are unable to login to the computer)
o Password change at https://faa.uwrf.edu
• Create a redirect rule in OWA if you’d like your OWA email (employee account) to go to Live@edu (student account) email so that you don't have to check two different accounts.
Note however that the email address that will be listed in Desire2Learn will be the @uwrf.edu (employee email). This cannot be changed as it is tied in with the eSIS process. If you are taking courses, email from Desire2Learn will be sent to your employee email account. If you don't want that, please create a redirect rule as described in the document below.
The PDF document attached will help you to create the redirect rules.

Access to resources for an individual will be removed immediate at the time a person no longer becomes affiliated to the university. The content associated with a resource will be retained for a period of 1 year.
If it becomes necessary to quickly and immediately remove all IT resources from an individual, for example, an employee terminated for cause, contact DoTS by phone. The DoTS staff can force immediate termination of all IT resources using the procedure "Emergency Account Deprovisioning."
