A screen recording captures anything displayed on your computer screen (PowerPoint presentation, webpage, etc) and pairs it with any audio narrated on a microphone connected to your computer.
Ideas for Screen Recordings
"Flip" Your Classroom Lecture
A large portion of time during face-to-face classes focuses on delivering information to students. This leaves little time for students to actively analyze or apply some of the concepts addressed during a lecture.
Consider recording and presenting this content to students online before they enter the classroom. Rather than providing this information during class, use class time to provide activities that integrate the concepts from the video lectures and course readings.
"Chunk" Information
Chunk information into manageable pieces that are centered on one specific concept. To prevent "learner fatigue," prepare videos shorter than 15 minutes.

B - Download Recorder – Download the recorder software on your computer (home, laptop, etc), follow these steps.
C - Retrieve Your Video - After your video has been recorded, you will retrieve your finished video on the UW System Media Server (Kaltura). [Please note, the UW media server is a pilot project during the 2011-2012 academic year.
D - Embed Your Video in D2L – Embed your video in your Desire2Learn course.
Troubleshooting Audio Settings – You run into a situation when you can not hear the sound on your computer when the microphone is plugged in. Be sure you check these settings.
