UWRF is an excellent choice for your career in Health and Human Performance. Our program has many important components to provide the solid background you need.
(teacher certification, no minor required) A comprehensive program (plus professional preparation classes) that qualifies graduates to teach K-12 Health & Physical Education in the public school setting.
(minor required) This program is designed for students who seek careers in a broad range of areas related to exercise and sport science, including: cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation, strength and conditioning, personal training, sport management, corporate wellness center, coaching, physical and occupational therapy, and health promotion. The program prepares students who plan to continue their education at the graduate level in any Kinesiology sub-discipline (athletic training, biomechanics, cardiac rehabilitation, sport management, sport psychology). Upon graduation students are required to take the ACSM or NSCA certification exam.
Health and Wellness Management (HWM)An online bachelor's degree completion program. A 63-credit collaborative, online degree-completion program, offered jointly by UW-River Falls, UW-LaCrosse, UW-Stevens Point and UW-Superior. For more information go to: http://hwm.wisconsin.edu/

At UW-River Falls you will have numerous opportunities to immerse yourself in real world situations. Dependent on your specific goals you may enjoy experiences within public schools, fitness centers, and athletic/sports teams.
International opportunities include overseas student teaching, Wisconsin in Scotland, semester abroad, and National Student Exchange Program.
You can expect daily one-on-one contact with your professors. Their goal is to help you succeed.
Students are taught how to design curriculum and present projects using a variety of media and technology. Technology is infused into academic preparation through a variety of the department's course offerings. Interactive computer software is an integral part of the teaching methods and biomechanics courses which incorporates digital video analysis of movement.
