LOCATION: This position is located in Facilities Management at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.
SALARY: Starting salary is $17.609 per hour, plus excellent benefits. A six-month probationary period is required. The pay schedule/range is 06-14, and the position is not represented by a bargaining unit.
JOB DUTIES: Position is responsible for assisting in the design, repair, maintenance, and calibration of highly sophisticated electronic equipment such as elevators, fire and smoke alarm systems, computerized energy monitoring systems, variable frequency drive HVAC systems, electronic boiler controls, greenhouse environmental control systems. This position requires that the person be capable of using complex test instruments, with the ability to design and or repair complex equipment and control systems.

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Candidates must have visual acuity necessary to read parts books and equipment manuals; ability to read requisitions and receive information; read English language sufficiently to read and understand construction documents (i.e., blueprints); read work orders, printed history pages and schedules from the energy management system, hazardous substance warnings, installation and repair manuals, and equipment operating instructions. Ability to orally communicate effectively with others using the English language, in person or over the telephone, with or without the use of auxiliary aids, in order to convey information. Must have interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with the public and other university employees. Candidates must have analytical skills necessary to diagnose and correct electronic failures in electronic equipment and related systems and have basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction and multiplication, necessary to complete work orders.
