Eligibility Requirements for Student Employment


Work Study

  • Enrolled at least half-time (6 credits undergraduate, 4 credits graduate)
  • Establish eligibility by completing FAFSA by the deadline
  • Received and accepted an award for work study in eSIS
  • For Summer employment- enrolled at least one summer mini session

Student Assistant

  • Must be currently enrolled at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls
  • For Summer employment- eligible if enrolled for upcoming fall semester even if not attending a summer session

Conditions of Employment - Work Rules

All student hourly positions are at-will positions and may be terminated at any time provided the reason is not prohibited by law. It is the University's position that the University of Wisconsin System Classified Employees Work Rules apply to student employees in the same manner as they apply to permanent classified staff.
