In 2008, the Chalmer Davee Library received a generous donation from the extensive personal library of Dr. Stephen Feinstein, professor of European history at UW-River Falls for over 30 years. Feinstein, a renowned holocaust scholar, passed away March 4, 2008 after which his family made the decision to donate his personal collection to the library.
The Stephen Feinstein Collection concentrates on Russian, European, and Middle Eastern history and art as well as genocide and the holocaust. At the time of his death, Dr. Feinstein was the director of the University of Minnesota's Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies.
The majority of the books in this collection can be sent to individuals who are unaffiliated with UWRF through regular interlibrary loan channels. Interested parties should place requests through their local library.
