The Mission of the Spanish Professions Association (SPA) is to serve as a cultural bridge between UWRF students and the community by bringing to the Modern Language Department a variety of speakers from diverse professional backgrounds in the region.

Mr. Hector Garcia spoke to the Spanish Professions Association in March 2013. Mr. Garcia is the Executive Director of the Chicano Latino Affairs Council (CLAC) in Minnesota. He spoke about his leadership in the organizational structure of CLAC in the area of forming strategic partnerships with outside agencies, as well as his involvement with the Minnesota Legislature and Governor with Latino-specific issues and policy recommendations.
