All new students who have not taken college-level courses in English composition and/or math are required to take the Wisconsin Regional Placement Tests before registering for classes. Academic advisors need your score(s) to place you in the appropriate classes. If you are not sure whether you need to take any of these exams, please contact the Admissions Office at 715-425-3500 or e-mail admit@uwrf.edu.
Placement Tests are offered throughout the state until late summer; however, should be taken by May 19, if you are attending a Registration Program in June, to ensure your scores are received by our campus and are ready to be reviewed by an academic advisor during New Student Registration. You can register for one of the regional testing dates online.
If you are unable to attend a regional testing date prior to May 19, you can take your Placement tests on campus in the University Center (building #20 on the campus map
) the afternoon before your scheduled registration date. Placement Tests are offered on June 3, 4, 6, 9, 10, 12, 13, 16, and 17 at the following times (you do not need to register for these testing dates):
- Modern Language Test - 3:00 p.m.
- Math Placement Test - 4:15 p.m. (non-graphing calculators are allowed)
- English Placement Test - 6:00 p.m.
*Up to 90 minutes is allowed for each exam, please plan accordingly.
