So, what's the first step of this new student transition experience? Sign up for registration! This is when you'll meet with an adviser and choose your classes. To view the entire new student timeline, click here.
Sign Up to Register for Classes
Pick your date to meet with an adviser and choose your classes. You can sign up to register in-person or virtually. Sign up opens in March to select dates as early as April. Visit uwrf.edu/admissions/sign-register-for-classes to see in-person dates, learn more about your options and find important details on what you need before your registration date.
Reminder! You are required to take the math and English placement test at least one week prior to your registration day/appointment to receive a complete class schedule. Visit uwrf.edu/admissions/placement-testing to learn more and sign up for placement testing.
Complete Your Pre-Orientation Modules Online
Set yourself up for success by learning about resources at UWRF and you’ll get everything you need to know before Orientation! New modules will be shared every two weeks beginning June 24. Log in to Canvas throughout the summer. We’ll share more information via email in May.

Move in on Thursday, Aug. 29
In early August, you’ll receive an email from Residence Life to select a move-in appointment time between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. We’ll have a full day of fun optional events for you, your family and supporters. If you cannot move in on August 29, email reslife@uwrf.edu. Click here to learn more about move-in day.
Commuter students who live off campus will also start Orientation on August 29, so plan to be here!

Orientation is a crucial step in your transition to campus. You’ll learn how to excel during your transition to UWRF and get connected with important partners in your journey. Don’t worry - a current student (Orientation Leader) and Resident Assistant will guide you through the entire week. More details coming throughout the summer!
Attend Week of Welcome
Week of Welcome (WOW) events take place during your first week at UWRF (Aug. 29-Sept. 7). From the Involvement Fair to Late Night Great Night, you'll find free food, giveaways and fun for everyone. Learn how to get involved on campus, make new friends and begin to make UWRF your new home!

Talk with your adviser at registration to enroll in all online courses. Whether you're in-person or online, the pre-orientation modules, Orientation Days and Week of Welcome will set you up for success throughout your degree program.
Re-Entry Students: If you've stepped away from college and are now returning to UWRF, start the re-entry process found on this page: https://www.uwrf.edu/admissions/re-entry. It's quick and easy! we'll connect you with an adviser to register as soon as your application process is completed.
- Early College Credit Program (ECCP): If you're an admitted ECCP student taking courses at UWRF while in high school, Katrina Rosik will communicate next steps and help prepare you for class registration. ECCP students don't need to complete the pre-Orientation modules or attend in-person Orientation. Email katrina.rosk@uwrf.edu with any questions.
- Dual Academic Credit (DACP) Students: If you're an admitted DACP student earning UWRF credit at your high school, you'll work directly with your high school to register for classes.
