Personal Profile

Professor Paulson retired from the Physics Department in the Summer of 2001. He was the President of the North Central Chapter of the Health Physics Society during 1995-96. From 1990-91, he was the President of the Wisconsin Section of the American Association of Physics Teachers.

Professor Paulson is a member of the Health Physics Society, the Wisconsin Section of the American Association of Physics Teachers, the Minnesota Area Association of Physics Teachers, the Midwest Chapter of the American Nuclear Society and the North Central Chapter of the Health Physics Society. He is currently serving on the Local Arrangements Committee for the 1998 Annual Meeting of the Health Physics Society to be held at the Minneapolis Convention Center and as the Administrative Dean of the 1998 Health Physics Society Summer School to be held at UW-River Falls.

Professor Paulson taught at UW-River Falls from 1984 to 2001. He previously taught at UW-Green Bay, Augsburg College and Oak Ridge Associated Universities. He has been an active consultant to 3M Company, Northern States Power Company and Oak Ridge Associated Universities.

Professor Paulson was named "Outstanding Faculty Member of the Year" in the College of Arts and Sciences in 1996. He was awarded the "Award for Excellence" from Oak Ridge Associated Universities in 1989 and an "Outstanding Service Award" from Augsburg College in 1986.
