  • High Jump and Pole Vault will be contested using the 5 - Alive method.
  • Horizontal Jumps: The boy's and girl's long jump and triple jump competition will be contested together using the "Open Pit" format. Each competitor will receive 3 jumps. Finals in the long jump / triple jump will not be contested. In the event that the triple jump competition ends early, we will start the long jump competition before 1:45pm. The pit will be open for 45 minutes for run-throughs prior to each competition, unless otherwise noted. Informational announcements will be made in the field house and the arena to update all athletes and coaches. Once an athlete completes a horizontal jump he/she has three options:
    1. May jump again
    2. May become the third person in line (in the hole).
    3. May check-out at the second call for a running event if necessary. Athletes are encouraged to check-out and check-in with the clerk of course and return to the field event to complete their trials until the third call is called for the running event. Athletes are not allowed to hold a spot for a teammate in an open pit.
  • Shot Put: Each athlete will throw four trials. Finals will not be contested. Athletes must throw two trials in the first round of competition.
  • Once an athlete's name is called, he/she has three options:
    1. May take all four trials in the first round.
    2. May take the first and second trials in the first round and hold the next two trials to the second and/or third round.
    3. May take the first, second and third trials in the first round and hold one trial for either the second or third round.
