Faculty applications for the 2015-16 Experience Scotland programs are now being accepted! Teaching opportunities with the Experience Scotland program exist during either the full semester or summer programs.  Scotland Photos

The Director of International Education/Programs will recruit faculty participants on each campus. Applicants must submit proposals for courses they could teach in Scotland. With the approval of appropriate university committees and officials, the Director of International Education/Programs on each campus will recommend candidates for nomination to the Scotland campus faculty.

Interested faculty must submit a faculty application by April 5 (16 months before the next WIS academic year begins). The intent of this amount of lead time is to give potential students information on courses to be offered so they can more easily participate in the program.

Nominations will be brought to a meeting of the Experience Scotland Advisory Council who will select the program staff for the upcoming academic year. This selection process will be based primarily upon concerns for the development of a well rounded study abroad curriculum. The selection committee will decide which faculty members from the campuses will receive the Scottish teaching assignment, and it will also decide which courses that person will teach.

Selection dates. Recommendations will be made in early spring immediately following the deadline for applications.

Contracts will be finalized as soon as possible by local campus procedures (i.e., a letter of appointment from the Vice Chancellor identifying expectations).

After the foundation curriculum has been selected, the Experience Scotland Advisory Council may recommend that the Resident Director recruit additional adjunct British faculty to supplement existing course offerings.

Change (emergency) will be done by consultation with the WIS Program Director and the responsible campus.
