Secondary Education Coursework for Undergraduate Students

TED 120 Introduction to Education and Technology (3) Field hours required 8 hours
Prerequisite: Completion of 12 Semester Credits. 2.5 Combined Grade Point Average.
(To be added to this course you must pick up an add card from the Academic Advisor for Teacher Education in WEB 203. Please come on your registration date. Bring a copy of your registration appointment time)

TED 212 Educational Psychology: Middle and Secondary Education (5) Field hours required 25 hours
Prerequisites: Completion of TED 115 & 156 or 120 with a Grade of C or higher
 (This is an Add Card only course please pick up add cards from the Teacher Education Department in 257 WEB. Please come on your registration date, and bring a copy of your registration appointment time, and bring your DAR to verify completion of required courses)

TED 252 Foundations of Multicultural Education (3)
Field hours required: 20 hours (placements are made in the twin cities)

Prerequisites: None

PSYC 330/530 The Exceptional Child (3)
Prerequisites: Must have completed 60 credits

TED 414/614 Development of the Transescent (4)
 Prerequisites: TED 212 (undergraduates only) and completion of 90 credits

TED 420 School and Society (3)
Prerequisites: Admission to Teacher Education

TED 422/622 Content Area Literacy in Middle and Secondary Schools (3)
Prerequisites: Admission to Teacher Education and completion of 90 credits

TED 423/623 Writing, Speaking and Listening in the Content Area (3)
Prerequisites: Admission to Teacher Education and completion of 90 credits

TED 429-441 Techniques of Middle/secondary Education: (Your subject area) (3)
Prerequisites: Admission to Teacher Education and completion of 90 credits
(Special Note: Please check with the TED department about when your Techniques Class is offered, several are only offered once a year.)

TED 473-475 Student Teaching 6-12 Credits
 Prerequisites: See admission to student teaching information
               

Total Credits: 42 for 6-12 certification program
