Student Teaching Admission Requirements
To
be eligible for student teaching students must meet the following
requirements:
-
Admission to Teacher Education.
- Successful completion of all techniques courses with a grade
of "B" or better for secondary education students, and grades
of "C" or better for elementary students in the block courses.
- Successful completion of all required professional education, and
major courses with no grades lower then a "C".
- Minimum Grade Point Averages:
- Undergraduates: Grade Point Average of at least of 2.75 in each
of the following: teaching major(s), certifiable minor(s), if any,
and professional education coursework. In addition to the above
you must have a cumulative Grade Point Average of a 2.75.
- Graduates: Grade Point Average
of at least of 3.0 in all graduate and undergraduate courses taken
as a part of your teacher preparation program
- Successful completion of a minimum of 100 hours of field experiences.
- Satisfactory completion of the appropriate human relations requirement.
- Current Wisconsin Criminal Background Check (within the past two
years); a MN placement may require additional background checks (per.
the school district)
- A current tuberculosis test with the results on file in the Field
Experience Office
- Successfully complete Praxis II requirements in all areas you are
seeking licensing in.
