Feb. 21, 2005 Forward Kelly Jensen (Fr., Eden Prairie, Minn.) had another strong game in the team's 6-2 win at Lake Forest on Saturday. She had the lone assist on the game winning goal and had another assist on the team's sixth and final goal of the contest. "She gives us 100 percent every shift, and she can change the momentum of a game," said Falcon Coach Joe Cranston. |

Feb. 14, 2005 Goalie Marlene Yaeger (Sr., Medina, Minn.) played an important role in the team's 2-1 win over St. Olaf last week. She stopped 22 of the 23 shots on goal to get the win and raise her record to 6-8 this year. She has a 1.83 goals against average and a .934 saves percentage this year. She has recorded two shutouts. |

Feb. 7, 2005 Forward Leah Baron (Jr., Hermantown, Minn. Proctor-Hermantown HS) helped the Falcons to a win in two NCHA games last weekend at Hunt Arena. The Falcons beat UW-Eau Claire, 3-1, but lost to UW-Stevens Point, 2-0. In Friday's win over UWEC, Baron scored two goals to lead the Falcons. She started the scoring with a power-play goal at 18:14 of the first period and scored what proved to be the game winner at 3:12 of the second period. She has seven goals and 14 points for the Falcons this year. |

Jan. 24, 2005 Goalie Amber Lindner (So., Moorhead, Minn.) played a perfect game for the Falcons in a 1-0 win at UW-Superior on Sunday. Lindner stopped all 38 shots she faced including nine in the first period, 17 in the second and 12 in the third. Amber put together a great shutout against a very good UWS team, at a time when we really needed it," Coach Joe Cranston said. |

Dec. 6, 2004 Goalie Marlene Yaeger (Sr., Medina, Minn.) has earned her second Player of the Week award after having a great game against Lake Forest on Friday. Yaeger played all 60 minutes of Fridays game stopping all 25 shots she faced to help her team to a 3-0 shutout win. She now has a school record 12 career shut-outs. "She played a good solid game. She is a consistent player," said Falcon Coach Joe Cranston. |

Nov. 22, 2004 Forward Lou Paulson (Jr., Duluth, Minn. Proctor-Hermantown HS) was the Falcons leading scorer in the team's three games. The Falcons lost at UW-Superior, 2-1, but came back to claim 4-2 and 5-1 wins over Finlandia in NCHA play at Hunt Arena. Paulson was the only UWRF player to find her way to the net when she scored on a power play at 7:50 in the second period. During the weekend games against Finlandia she scored her first goal 4:49 into the second period on Saturday. On Sunday she began the scoring at 13:19 of the first period and scored her second goal in the at 9:58 of the third period. It was Paulson's ability to stop the other team from scoring on power plays that really made her this week's stand out player. Coach Joe Cranston said her ability, "to kill penalties was unbelievable, she helped stopped 90 percent of them." |

Nov. 15, 2004 Goalie Marlene Yaeger (Sr., Medina, Minn.) played a near perfect game in the team's 1-0 loss at Gustavus Aldophus on Saturday afternoon. She allowed only the one goal but still made 44 saves. The goal was scored at 12:13 of the second period when the Gusties were on a 5-3 power play. Falcon Coach Joe Cranston praised Yaeger for her hard work in the game saying,, "she was our best player at Gustavus." Gustavus was ranked No. 6 in the Nov. 8 USCHO poll while UWRF was ranked at No. 10. |

Nov. 8, 2004 Defenseman Jenny Wallace (So., Buffalo, Minn.) had a great beginning to the season. On Friday the Falcons defeated St. Catherine, 6-2, at the University of Minnesota Ridder Arena. Wallace was the top scorer for the game scoring the team's third goal at 8:44 of the second period. She also had an assist on a Lindsay OKeefe goal at 9:43. She gave another assist to Emily Nierenhausen's goal at 7:17 of the third period. She played well in Saturdays 7-0 win over St. Benedict at Hunt Arena. Wallace had the fifth goal at 5:30 of the second period. "Jenny was our top scorer and did a great job at her position." Falcon Coach Joe Cranston commented. |
