Jan. 28

Women Swimmer

Rachel Merrier (So., Scandia, Minn. Forest Lake HS) and Samantha Strehlow (Fr., Hurley, Wis.) both had excellent meets for the Falcons in the team's win over St. Mary's on Saturday. Merrier won the 1,000 freestyle in 12:21.05. She swam the 500 free in 5:56.87 in exhibition. Her 1,000 time was her best of the season. Strehlow placed fifth in the 50 free in 29.46. She swam the 100 free in exhibition and finished in 1:05.66 and the 200 breaststroke in 3:08.54. Her 100 time was her best of the season.


Men
Anthony Orlando (So., Franklin, Wis.) had three strong swims for the Falcons in the team's loss to St. Mary's on Saturday. He placed second in the 1,000 freestyle in 11:29.05 and second in the 200 fly in 2:25.55. He finished third in the 500 free in 5:40.64. His times in the 1,000 and fly were his best of the season.

Jan. 21

Women Swimmer

Tia Felts (Sr., Shawano, Wis.) helped the Falcons to a second place finish at the St. Catherine Invitational held Saturday in St. Paul, Minn. Felts finished seventh in the 100 backstroke in 1:10.15. She also placed seventh in the 400 IM in 5:34.87. Felts also placed eighth in the 200 back in 2:29.69. “Tia had lifetime best swims in both the 400 IM and 200 back,” said Falcon Coach Bill Henderson.

Women Diver
Jaynell Feider (So., Woodbury, Minn.) performed well in the one and three-meter diving events at the St. Catherine Invitational on Saturday. She helped the Falcons to a second place finish in the team standings. Feider won the one-meter event with 338.9 points. Her point total set a pool record. She also placed fourth in the three-meter event with 267.3 points.

Men
Tom Fritchen (Sr., Racine, Wis. Park HS) helped the Falcons to a second place finish at the St. Catherine Invitational held Saturday in St. Paul, Minn. He finished second in the 200 fly in 2:32.2. He placed third in the 400 IM in 5:03.26 and fourth in the 200 IM in 2:21.63. “Tom had super swims in all of his events,” said Falcon Coach Bill Henderson.

Dec. 17

Women

Jill Lambach (So., South St. Paul, Minn.) had three strong swims for the Falcons in the team's 112.5-101.5 win over Hamline on Saturday at the River Falls High School pool. Lambach, 5-6, finished second in the 50 free in 26.05 and second in the 100 free in 57.6. She also helped the 200 medley relay team to a first place finish in 2:02.07.


Men
Josh Anderson (Fr., Little Canada, Minn. Roseville HS) swam well for the Falcons in the team's dual meet against Hamline on Saturday at the River Falls High School pool. Anderson, 5-9, finished fourth in the 200 free in 2:09.03 and fourth in the 500 free in 5:55.49. He also helped one of the Falcon 200 medley relay teams to a third place finish in 2:09.87.

Dec. 3

Women

Tia Felts (Sr., Shawano, Wis.) had three strong swims at the Falcon Invitational held Friday and Saturday at the University of Minnesota Aquatics Center. She swam in the 200 freestyle relay, her team finishing 32 nd with a time of 1:58.59. She also placed 65 th in the 200 IM with a time of 2:39.46 and 34 th in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:30. “Tia has been waiting all season for a big opportunity and she got in the 200 yard backstroke. I think she really nailed it,” Falcon Coach Bill Henderson said.

Anthony Orlando (So., Franklin, Wis.) had two strong swims at the Falcon Invitational held Friday and Saturday at the University of Minnesota Aquatics Center. He finished 61 st in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:39.09 and 46 th in the 100 butterfly in 1:05.57. “Tony joined up late after he finished running with Falcon cross country team, but he's really shaped up and put together some really good swims,” Falcon Coach Bill Henderson said.

Nov. 12

Women

Martha O’Brien (Sr., Hudson, Wis.) had some strong swims in the meet Saturday against Lawrence. She swam the 200 yard IM, placing second with a time of 2:31.79, the 100 yard breaststroke, placing second with a time of 1:17.31 and she swam with the 200 yard freestyle relay team that took first with a time of 1:49.15.


Men
Sean Breneman (Fr., Stillwater, Minn., Tartan HS) swam well against Lawrence on Saturday. He swam with the 200 yard medley relay team that took second with a time of 1:50.95, placed second in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 1:02.1 and fourth in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:14.86.

Nov. 5

Women

Martha O’Brien (Sr., Hudson, Wis.) swam the 400 yard IM against Eau Claire in the meet on Friday. She placed third with a time of 5:26.01. Falcon Coach Bill Henderson said of O’Brien, “She swam the 400 IM, one of the hardest events, and was more than willing to swim what we needed her to.”


Men
Tom Fritchen (Sr., Racine, Wis., Park High School) swam the 400 yard IM and 500 freestyle in the meet against Eau Claire on Friday. He placed fifth with a time of 5:11.06 in the 400 IM and third in the 500 free in 5:59.54. Falcon Coach Bill Henderson said, “Tom swam a good time in the 400 IM.”

Oct. 29

Women

Katie Zappa (Fr., Hudson, Wis.) won two events in the team’s 108-102 win over Macalester on Friday night. She won the 50 free in 26.62 and the 100 free in 57.49. She also swam on the 200 medley relay team that placed second with a time of 2:03.35.


Men
Nico Wallat (Fr. Brooklyn Park, Minn. Champlin Park HS) won both events he swam in the team’s 95-49 win over Macalester on Friday night. He won the 1,000 free in 12:05.48 and came back later to win the 100 free in 53.85. He also swam a leg with the 400 free relay team that finished in 3:44.

Oct. 22

Women

Rachel Merrier (So., Scandia, Minn. Forest Lake HS) had a busy day in a dual meet at UW-Oshkosh on Saturday. She finished fourth in the 200  butterfly with a time of 2:59.52. In the 200 backstroke she placed fifth in 2:44.36. She swam the second leg of the 200 free relay in 30.81 and helped the team to a second place finish in 1:59.62. "Rachel swam very well for us," said Falcon Coach Bill Henderson.

Men
Tyler Campbell (So., Eau Claire, Wis. North HS) was one of the team's top swimmers in a dual meet at UW-Oshkosh on Saturday. He placed third in the 200 individual medley in 2:41.11. He took fourth place in the 1,000 freestyle in 13:05.53. In the 500 freestyle he placed fifth with a time of 6:19.62. "Tyler swam very well in his three events," said Falcon Coach Bill Henderson.
