Singles: Kathryne Ostrowski (So., Wells, Minn. United South Central HS) picked up an important team point in UWRF's 5-4 win over La Crosse. The win was the first ever for the Falcons over La Crosse. Playing at No. 2, she defeated her La Crosse opponent in straight sets, 6-4 and 6-1. Ostrowski has a 5-8 record this year at No. 2.
Doubles: The No. 3 doubles team of Stacia Kozel (Fr., Lodi, Wis.) and Cassie Wood (So., Wells, Minn. United South Central) earned an important point in the team's 5-4 win at La Crosse. The win was the first ever for the Falcons over La Crosse. The team won, 8-3 and have a 3-4 record at No. 3 doubles this season. "Stacia and Cassie came through in winning a big point," said Falcon Coach Lee Lueck. |

Singles: No. 1 singles player Kozue Matsumoto (Fr., Kasuga, Japan Hooh HS) continued her winning streak in a dual match against UW-Eau Claire. She defeated her opponent, 6-2, 6-2, to capture a team point. Matsumoto is now 12-0 overall in singles play.
Doubles: The No. 1 doubles team of No. 1 singles player Kozue Matsumoto (Fr., Kasuga, Japan Hooh HS) and Kathryne Ostrowski (So., Wells, MN/United South Central HS) played a strong match in an 8-2 win over an Eau Claire team. They have combined for a 10-3 record this season and have won five of their last six matches. |

Singles:
No. 1 singles player Kozue Matsumoto (Fr., Kasuga, Japan Hooh HS) stayed undefeated for the Falcons with three wins last week and two came in WIAC play. She defeated a Stevens Point opponent, 6-2, 6-2, an Oshkosh opponent, 6-1, 6-0 and a Bethel opponent, 6-2, 6-1. "Kozue continues to play very well and hasn't gone three sets yet this year," said Falcon Coach Lee Lueck. She is undefeated with an 11-0 record.
Doubles: The No. 2 team of Katie Lynn Anderson (Jr., Forest Lake, Minn.) and Mindy Rudiger (Jr., Menomonie, Wis.) improved its record to 9-2 with three wins in three matches last week. They defeated a Stevens Point team, 8-7, an Oshkosh team, 8-6, and a Bethel team, 8-4. "The had some come from behind wins. As captains they have shown tremendous leadership and organizational skills off the courts as well," said Falcon Coach Lee Lueck. |

Singles:
Lindsay Gillman (So., Red Wing, Minn.) is 6-2 after winning both of her matches against Stout and St. Thomas last week. She defeated UW-Stout 4-6, 6-3, 6-1 on Tuesday and Thursday she battled back in spite of being down 5-4 in consecutive sets to win 7-5, 7-5. The win was a key in a victory over St. Thomas (5-3).
Doubles: The No. 2 team of Katie Lynn Anderson ( Jr. Forest Lake, Minn.) and Mindy Rudiger ( Jr. Menomonie, Wis.) played excellent doubles tennis winning both their matches last week 9-8 (8-6) at UW-Stout and 8-5 vs. St. Thomas. The doubles team is 6-2 this season. |

Singles: Kozue Matsumoto (Fr., Kasuga, Japan, Hooh HS)remains undefeated and continues to be dominant after convincing wins against St Mary’s (6-1, 6-1), Whitewater (6-2, 6-1) and Div. I opponent UW-Milwaukee (6-2, 6-1). Kozue has yet to drop a set in any of her matches this season. Her overall singles record is 5-0.
Doubles: The No. 3 team of Brittany Bonine (Fr., Delano, Minn.) and Stacia Kozel (Fr., Lodi, Wis.) played two strong matches for the Falcons last week. Down 5-2, the pair came back to take six of the next seven points to defeat a Ripon opponent, 8-6. Earlier in the week, the duo defeated a St. Mary’s team 8-4. The pair has a 2-2 record on the season. |

Singles: Kozue Matsumoto (Fr., Kasuga, Japan, Hooh HS) won both her matches at No. 1 singles in her first college action. She defeated her St. Norbert opponent, 6-1, 6-1, and her Lawrence opponent, 6-0, 6-1.
Doubles: The Falcon No. 2 team of Mindy Rudiger (Jr., Menomonie, Wis.) and Katie Lynn Anderson (Jr., Forest Lake, Minn.) started the season strong with an 8-6 win over a Lawrence team. |
