Forward Emma Nordness (Fr., Excelsior, Minn. Benilde-St. Margaret's HS) had two strong games in helping the Falcons to a NCHA sweep over Concordia University last weekend at Hunt Arena. The two wins helped the Falcons stay in first place in the NCHA standings with two weeks to play in the regular season. Nordness, 5-3, scored her first collegiate hat trick in Friday's 6-0 win. She scored her first goal, unassisted, at 13:53 of the opening period. She scored the team's final two goals at 17:33 and 19:39 of the third period. Her third goal came with the Falcons on the power play. She also picked up an assist on the team's second goal of the game in the opening stanza. Nordness has scored six goals and has nine points in 20 games. She leads the team with two short-handed goals and has one power-play goal and one game-winner.

Forward Jessica Thompson (So., Shoreview, Minn. Mounds View HS) had a big week for the Falcons in two games against ranked opponents. In the team's 5-3 loss at No. 1 ranked Gustavus Adolphus on Wednesday she scored a power-play goal in the second period to get the Falcons to within a goal (2-1). Midway through the second period she picked up the first assist on a Falcon goal that got the Falcons back to within two goals (4-2). In the team's 3-2 NCHA win at No. 8 ranked UW-Stevens Point on Saturday Thompson, 5-6, had two assists. She had the first assist in the game's first goal in the opening period. She got the lone assist on the team's second goal of the game in the second period. That goal gave the Falcons a 2-1 lead at the time. The win over UWSP put the Falcons into a tie for first place with the Pointers. This year Thompson is tied for the team lead in scoring with 17 points. She has four goals and leads the Falcons with 13 assists. She has scored three power-play goals.

Forward Stefanie Schmitz (Jr., Farmington, Minn.) helped the Falcons to win three of a possible four NCHA points at UW-Superior. Schmitz, 5-5, scored the game-tying goal in the team's 2-2 overtime tie on Friday. She scored the power-play goal at 18:43 of the second period. In Saturday's 4-2 win, she netted the game-winning goal at 13:44 of the second stanza. Schmitz is tied for the team lead with eight goals and 15 points. She leads the Falcons with three power-play goals and she has two game-winners.

Forward Abby Sunderman (Jr., LeSueur, Minn. LeSueur-St. Peter HS) played well for the Falcons in a pair of losses to Adrian College last weekend at Hunt Arena. On Friday she had an assist on the team's third goal which gave the Falcons a 3-2 lead at the time. On Saturday she had an assist on the team's first goal and scored the team's second goal that tied the game, 2-2, with just 3:50 to play in the game. This year Sunderman, 5-5, leads the team with eight goals and 14 points. She has scored one power-play goal, one short-handed goal and one game-winner.

Forward Abby Sunderman (Jr., LeSueur, Minn. LeSueur-St. Peter HS) had two solid games for the Falcons in a pair of NCHA games at Hunt Arena. In the team's 6-1 win over Finlandia on Sunday Sunderman scored twice and had an assist. She scored the team's first goal at 8:46 of the first period and the third goal at 10:29 of the second period. Her first goal was a power-play goal. She also added an assist on the team's sixth goal early in the final stanza. Sunderman, 5-5, is second on the team in scoring with seven goals and 11 points. She is tied for the team lead in goals. She has scored one power-play goal and one game-winner.

Goalies Cassi Campbell (So., Anchorage , Alaska) and Melissa Deardorff (Fr., Anchorage , Alaska) both recorded shutouts in two NCHA road games over the weekend. Campbell , 5-6, stopped all 19 Forester shots in a 3-0 UWRF win. She is now 5-1 this year with a .931 saves percentage and a 1.27 goals against average. Deardorff won her first game of the season and picked up her first collegiate shutout, blanking Concordia Saturday afternoon, 4-0. Deardorff, 5-5, didn't allow a goal on 17 shots faced. She has a 1.36 goals against average and a .946 saves percentage. Together, Campbell and Deardorff have recorded three shutouts on the season. “They were very confident, and neither one of them were shaky on a single shot all weekend,” said Falcon Coach Joe Cranston of the goalies.

Goalie Cassi Campbell (So., Anchorage, Alaska) dominated Lake Forest shooters Sunday afternoon when she recorded her first shutout of the season. Campbell, 5-6, stopped all 19 Forester shots on the afternoon in her third win of the season. She also picked up the win in a 5-3 Falcon victory on Saturday. She made only four saves in playing about half the game. In 151 minutes this season Campbell has a .962 saves percentage allowing two goals on 53 shots faced. She has a .79 goals against average.
