Women
Rachel Merrier (Jr., Scandia, Minn. Forest Lake HS) had some strong swims for the Falcons in the team's 121-80 win at Hamline on Friday night. Merrier won the 1650 freestyle in 20:28.51. It was her best time of the season in the race. She also swam the 100 free in exhibition and finished in 1:02.52. Merrier also swam with the 200 free relay team, the third leg, that placed second in 1:57.31.
Men
Tom Phillips (Fr., Cottage Grove, Minn. Park HS) won two events in the team's 98-74 win at Hamline on Friday night. Phillips won the 200 free in 2:06.21 and that is his best time of the season in the race. And he was a member of the 200 medley relay team that placed first in 2:00.35.

Women
Tamra Knight (So., Shoreview, Minn. Mounds View HS) swam two season bests at the St. Catherine Invitational held Saturday in St. Paul, Minn. In the 400 IM she swam a 5:30.38 and she had a time of 20:54.57 in the 1,650 freestyle. “Tam worked very hard during our winter break training in Florida,” said Falcon Coach Bill Henderson.
Men
Anthony Orlando (Jr., Franklin, Wis.) had season best swims in three events at the St. Catherine Invitational held Saturday in St. Paul, Minn. He had a time of 5:02.08 in the 400 IM, he finished in 19:26.71 in the 1,650 free and had a time of 2:18.1 in the 200 IM. “Anthony trained hard during our winter break trip in Florida and it has paid off,” said Falcon Coach Bill Henderson. |

Women
Katie Zappa (Sr., Hudson, Wis.) had some strong swims for the Falcons at the UWRF Invitational held last weekend at the University of Minnesota. Zappa, 5-2, finished third in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:02.83 on Friday. She came back on Saturday with a 12 th place finish in the 200 fly with a time of 2:27.67.
Men
Michael Brudzinski (Sr., Oakdale, Minn. Tartan HS) performed well for the Falcons at the UWRF Invitational held last weekend at the University of Minnesota. Brudzinski, 5-10, finished 12 th in the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:44.29. He also placed 14 th in the 100 butterfly with a time of 58 seconds. |

Megan Murphy (Fr., Farmington, Minn.) had some strong swims for the Falcons in the team’s 140-83 win at Lawrence on Saturday. Murphy, 5-8, won the 200 IM in 2:28.52 and placed sixth in the 100 free in 1:02.
Men
Thomas Mathewson (Fr., Hudson, Wis.) swam well for the Falcons in the team’s dual meet at Lawrence on Saturday. Mathewson, 5-11, placed second in the 500 free in 5:44.97 and finished third in the 200 free in 2:03.03. |

Women
Anastasia Anderson (Fr., Minneapolis, Minn. Southwest HS) had two strong meets for the Falcons against Macalester on Friday and Eau Claire on Saturday. Against Macalester she won the 100 back in 1:03.46 and the 200 back in 2:19.46. “Both of her times in the backstroke events were in the Top 10,” said Falcon Coach Bill Henderson. Against Eau Claire she placed second in the 500 free in 5:57.23.
Men
Dan Blasberg (So., Eagan, Minn.) helped the Falcons with his swimming in several events in the team’s meets against Macalester on Friday and Eau Claire on Saturday. Against Eau Claire he finished second in the 50 free in 24.23 and third in the 100 free in 54.4. Against Macalester he placed third in the 100 back in 1:06.29, third in the 50 free in 24.44 and fourth in the 100 free in 55.05. |

Women
Danielle Mandich (Sr., Bloomington, Minn. Jefferson HS) had several outstanding swims to help lead the Falcons to a win over UW-Oshkosh on Saturday at the River Falls High School poll. Mandich, 5-9, placed first in the 50 free in 25.95 and in the 100 free in 58.02 to lead the Falcons. She was the leadoff swimmer for the 200-free relay team that placed first in 1:46.56 and she was the anchor for the 200-medley relay team that placed first in 2:00.44.
Men
Michael Brudzinski (Sr., Oakdale, Minn. Tartan HS) was the team’s top swimmer in a loss to UW-Oshkosh on Saturday at the River Falls High School pool. Brudzinski, 5-10, won three individual events. He won the 200 fly in 2:22.43, the 200 IM in 2:16.18 and the 200 breaststroke in 2:30.21. He also swam the anchor leg of a 200-free relay team that placed second in 1:41.1. |
