Katie Ostrowski (Jr., Wells, Minn. United South Central HS) played very well despite finishing with an 0-3 record at No. 1 singles. “The competition is unbelievably tough,” said Falcon Coach Lee Lueck. “I give her credit for wanting to be the No. 1 player and having to face that caliber of player in every match. Her game is rising to her opponents’ level as she continues to improve, train, condition and fight for every game.”
Doubles
The team of Brittany Bonine (So., Delano, Minn.) and Naomi Wolff (Fr., Middleton, Wis.) finished the week with two wins. They had wins at No. 3 at UW-Stevens Point and at No. 2 against Concordia. “Brittney supplies the consistency and leadership, while Wolff supplies the firepower,” said Falcon Coach Lee Lueck. “For such a young team they have both the confidence and skill needed to win. As they continue to improve and bond as a pair they can be a force at the No. 3 spot.” |

They beat their St. Norbert opponents, 8-2 their Edgewood opponents, 8-2 and their Lawrence opponents, 8-2. “Lindsay and Brittany both have the ability to keep the ball in play (consistency), move their opponents around the court waiting for an "opportunity ball" and then they attack,” said Falcon Coach Lee Lueck. “Most of all, they both have the ability to think through or construct a point. This takes patience, consistency and confidence.” |
