Welcome to the History and Philosophy Department!
Our department offers:
Three Majors in History or a Major in Broad Field Social Studies (for teaching)
Minors in History, Philosophy and Broad Field Social Studies.
Why Major in History?

A History major prepares you for careers in:

- communications
- public or foreign service
- teaching (BFSS major-History emphasis)
- business - analysis, writing, staff training, project management, corporate or non-profit management - just to name a few!
And of course, a history degree is also a solid foundation for an advanced degree in law, religion, or an academic specialty.
