Sept. 26, 2024 - The University of Wisconsin-River Falls will host a public lecture and student hands-on workshop series Oct. 7-11 by Emmy-winning art director Elizabeth Steinberg, renowned for her expertise in motion design, branding and creative entrepreneurship.

Steinberg, originally from South Africa, has worked on high-profile campaigns for major companies including Microsoft, Apple TV, Netflix and Hulu.

Steinberg’s free public lecture, “The Future of Creativity: How Advanced AI is Transforming Art, Motion Design, and Marketing,” is Wednesday, Oct. 9, from 5:30-7 p.m. in North Hall Auditorium, Room 222. Steinberg will discuss the evolving role of artificial intelligence (AI) in the creative industries, focusing on its impact on art, design and branding.

In addition to the lecture, Steinberg will lead several specialized student workshops designed to introduce participants to AI’s integration into the creative process. The theme is “Mastering the Future: AI, Art Across All Mediums, and Creative Entrepreneurship.” Workshops include Unlocking AI Potential, Advanced AI, Motion Design, Creative Entrepreneurship and Digital Sculpting & 3D Modeling.

Steinberg co-founded the creative studio Martian & Sons and teaches motion design on her platform Friends of Motion, where she continues to inspire designers and animators. With a career spanning work for brands like Disney, Motorola and Nat Geo, Steinberg’s visit offers UW-River Falls students and the wider community invaluable insights into the intersection of creativity and technology.
