School counseling open house April 21

April 9, 2025 - Individuals interested in a career in school counseling are invited to an open house for the University of Wisconsin-River Falls school counseling program on Monday, April 21, from 5- 6:30 p.m. in the Wyman Education Building, room 129, 410 S. 3rd St., River Falls.

The event will offer a comprehensive overview of UWRF's graduate-level counseling program. The program prepares students to work as professional counselors in diverse PK-16 school settings. Upon graduation, students will have a Master of Science degree in education, a wide breadth of hands-on experience and an array of skills and tools needed to succeed in their careers. The program is accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).

Attendees will have the opportunity to:

• Meet faculty and current students to gain insights into the program’s supportive and collaborative learning environment.
• Learn about the curriculum, including coursework, practicum and internship opportunities.
• Discover flexible degree plans and evening courses offered during fall and spring semesters.
• Gain information on field placement opportunities in various school settings, including urban, suburban, rural, charter, private and online schools.
