Unique gifts available at annual art sale

Event raises money to support scholarships for student artists 

Nov. 26, 2024 - People seeking one-of-a-kind gifts for the holidays are likely to find what they’re looking for at the upcoming annual Art Department Scholarship Sale at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. 
  
Those purchases will result in hand-made gifts and will also help aspiring young artists. All sale proceeds directly support UWRF art student scholarships.   
  
The sale begins Monday, Dec. 2, and continues through Sunday, Dec. 8. It takes place in the E.H. Kleinpell Fine Art building, Gallery 101. The sale will be open to the public from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2-Friday, Dec. 6; 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7; and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8.   
  
This year’s sale features a silent auction showcasing works donated by Art Department faculty and friends. The sale also includes a blown glass ornament-making event in which participants can create their own ornaments. That event occurs at 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, in E.H. Kleinpell Fine Arts building Room 163. The cost is $25 per ornament.
