Staying safe when living off campus requires action on your part along with recognition of safety issues you may not have encountered living in the dorms.  The information provided here will help prepare you for emergencies and raise your awareness of potentially unsafe situations. Fire safety, personal safety, and safety when bicycling or walking are discussed.  Remaining safe while at home and keeping your home and belongings safe when away during school breaks are also covered.  Reading the emergency response guide will help prepare you for emergencies of all types and is highly recommended.  A list of emergency numbers is provided below with a printable version of off campus emergency numbers available here.
