Early Arrival Request for Fall 2024

  • Incoming Students Move In Days: Thursday, August 29 - Monday, September 2
    • (Note: Welcome activities and meal plans start on August 29)
  • Returning Students Move In Days: Friday, August 30 - Monday, September 2
  • Classes Start: Tuesday, September 3

 

 

Students Who Need to Arrive Early

Students who need to arrive prior to the above standard move in dates must must be pre-approved to move into the Residence Halls early by following the below instructions.

Students not required to submit a request to arrive early

UWRF departments will submit early arrival lists for certain groups of students. Please do not submit a request in the Housing Portal if you are in one of the following categories:

  • A student worker arriving early for training
  • An athlete arriving early for sports practices
  • An international student arriving for orientation on August 27th or later
  • A Move Crew volunteer
  • Participating in the Jump Start Program  

What you can do: Please check with your supervisor, coach, or other department contact to verify that you are on their list that they will be submitting to Residence Life.  Also ask them what your arrival date will be and whether the cost will be paid by you or the department. Cost: $22/night will be added to your eSIS account, if your department will not be paying the cost of your early arrival housing.

 

Students required to submit a request to arrive early

All students who do not fall within one of the above categories must submit a request to arrive early in the Housing Portal.

  • All requests must fall between the following dates: Saturday, August 24 and Wednesday, August 28.

Please note the following:

  • No Guarantee: Submitting an early arrival request does not guarantee that the request will be approved.  Students without a valid, university-related reason will not be approved to move in early.  A response will be sent to your UWRF email notifying you whether or not your request has been approved.
  • Activities/Meals: New student welcome activities and meal plans do not begin until August 29th. 
  • Request in Advance: Requests MUST be submitted in the Housing Portal at least 1 business day in advance of the requested move-in date (This means that requests for Saturday, Sunday or Monday arrival must be submitted before 4:30pm on the Friday before).

If Approved for Early Arrival:

  • Approval: A confirmation email with check-in instructions will be sent to your UWRF email.
  • Check-in: You will need to check in from Noon-4pm or 6-8pm on your approved check-in day.  These are the only times we have staff available to check in students.  
  • Cost: $32/night will be added to your eSIS account.
  • Policies: Students are responsible for following all Residence Life policies and procedures and may not have overnight guests during this time.  Failure to comply may result in Residence Life revoking the privilege to live on campus prior to August 29, 2024. 
  • Dining: The 2024-25 dining contract begins Thursday, August 29th, beginning with breakfast. Meals prior to August 29th have an out-of-pocket cost per meal, with limited dining options in the University Center. Contact the Dining Office with any questions regarding meal plans/dining options (dining@uwrf.edu / 715-425-4403).

Dining During Early Arrival

The Fall meal plans begin at breakfast on Thursday, August 29th. Meals prior to August 29th have an out-of-pocket cost per meal, with limited dining options in the University Center. If you are an early arrival as part of department, athletics, academic program, and/or student employment, please check in with your supervisor/coach to see if your meals are included with the program you are associated with. Please use the Dine on Campus app here for up-to-date hours of operation and direct contact with the dining team. You can also email any questions regarding meal plans/dining options to dining@uwrf.edu.
