50 Years of Quarter Abroad/Semester Abroad: Europe...and Counting!
In 1963, Robert B. ”Doc” Bailey, III, Ph.D., launched a unique study abroad program that would give a group of “wholesome, unspoiled, diligent [students], possessed of great intellectual curiosity” a chance to discover Europe and themselves. The Wisconsin State College-River Falls Quarter Abroad Program was born. Today, 50+ years and more than 1,000 students later, the UW-River Falls Semester Abroad: Europe Program still embodies “Doc” Bailey’s philosophy of experiential learning and cultural immersion through independent study and travel.
Celebrate 60 years of Study Abroad at UWRF!
The Dr. Robert B. Bailey III Office of International Education cordially invites you to celebrate the history and impact of all of the study abroad programs over the last 60 years, through music, stories and pictures on Saturday, Oct. 14, from 3:30-6:30 p.m. in the Riverview Ballroom, UC.
