Falcon Center Free Day!

11 a.m.-2 p.m., UWRF Falcon Center

The 2023-24 UWRF Behind the Scenes program (previously Series on Innovation and Excellence) will kick off with a free afternoon at the Falcon Center. Join us from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. as Campus Recreation staff will guide you through the facility and showcase on-campus options to improve your physical fitness and wellness this year.

Lace up your skates for open skate in Hunt Arena, join a mini group fitness class or tackle the climbing wall! If none of those options pique your interest, participate in any number of open recreation offerings including the fitness center, pickleball in the auxiliary gym, tennis in Knowles Field House or basketball in Page Arena. You’re also invited to attend one of two presentations from the Wellness Committee as they share the new campus-wide employee wellness initiative. Presentations are slated for 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

Eating Right on the Run and on a Budget

We all make excuses for eating junk or fast food! This seminar will cover real strategies on how to make good choices while eating out (and sticking to a budget!). There are lots of food options available and we’ll provide information to help empower you to make smart choices that benefit both your health and your pocketbook. We’ll cover the basics of eating healthy on a budget and how and when to select organic foods.

Autumn Candlelight Hike at the School Forest & Community Forest

6 p.m.-8 p.m., School Forest (School District of River Falls) and Community Forest (Kinnickinnic River Land Trust)

Hosted by River Falls Community Education

Enjoy a special night out in the forest with family or friends and join us for an autumn evening hike, illuminated by flameless candle luminaries. Explore the trails at the adjoining School Forest (School District of River Falls) and Community Forest (Kinnickinnic River Land Trust) properties. Stop by the confluence of the Kinnickinnic River and the Rocky Branch tributary for some cocoa, cider, and popcorn provided by Whole Earth Market Co-Op and say hi to KRLT and SDRF!
