CETL, Career Services, and the Dean of Students Office will be offering a day-long mental health first aid training. This eight-hour training will be led by Becca Peine, assistant dean of students at St. Cloud State University, a trained mental health first aid instructor, and proud UWRF alum. This training is an early intervention public education program that teaches adults how to recognize the signs and symptoms that suggest a potential mental health challenge, how to listen nonjudgmentally and give reassurance to a person who may be experiencing a mental health challenge, and how to refer a person to appropriate professional support and services. We hope you are able to join us for this important training. Coffee, tea, and lunch will be provided.
12-1 p.m., University Center, Chippewa River Room
Hosted by Kepro (contact Bethany Crail for more information)

1-2 p.m., University Center, Falcon's Nest
Hosted by CETL, Career Services, and the Dean of Students Office with Becca Peine
QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer — the three simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide. Just as people trained in CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help. Each year thousands of Americans, like you, are saying "Yes" to saving the life of a friend, colleague, sibling, or neighbor. This one-hour training is limited to 70 participants, so please register today!
