Excellence in Teaching Awards

Nominations for College of Arts and Sciences Excellence in Teaching Awards are solicited from College of Arts and Sciences current students and alumni. Recipients are selected based on the responses from these students and alumni. The Distinguished Teaching Award was established in 1985 and is considered the college’s highest award of distinction.

Prior to 2018 an award was given in each of the three college divisions to recognize exemplary service in the classroom and beyond. Beginning in 2018, it was determined that only one outstanding faculty or academic staff member from the college would be selected.
