EPP Undergraduate Admission

Undergraduate Admission to Education Preparation Programs

Teacher candidates are not considered formally admitted to the education preparation program until they successfully complete the EPP admission and evaluation process.  All programs which prepare teachers are required to have an admission process as indicated in PI34  “The SCD shall establish standards for admission to initial programs.”

Educator Preparation Program (EPP) candidates  will be evaluated at three separate points in the program.  Each of the evaluation points (Tiers) must be completed prior to enrolling in courses which have a prerequisite of completion of a specific “Tier.”  Failure to complete a tier does not constitute removal from the program. However, a candidate cannot move forward until each tier has been successfully completed.

If you are not a currently enrolled student, and are interested in attending UW-River Falls, please contact the admissions office at (715) 425-3500.

Teacher Candidate Evaluation Tier I - “Commitment to Learning.”

Pre-Admission to the Educator Preparation Program

When to Complete:

  • The Tier I process should be completed before reaching 45 credits.
  • The Tier I application is the final module in the EPP orientation course on Canvas

The first evaluation focuses on a candidate’s commitment to their own learning and growth as a future educator.  The criteria measures a candidate’s academic performance early in the program. A candidate is required to complete Tier I admission to enroll in courses with a prerequisite of “EPP Tier I Admission.”  Depending on enrollments, candidates are ranked by total score, and selected on a space available basis. Please refer to the Educator Preparation Program student handbook for specific requirements for Tier I admission.
