Join Career Services and the Office of International Education for an engaging Peace Corps panel. Attendees will hear from returned Peace Corps volunteers who served in Central Asia and the Caribbean. The panelists will share their experiences serving in those communities and offer insights into the challenges and rewards of international service.
In addition to the panelists, Senior Peace Corps Recruiter, Julee Muro de Gerome (RPCV Dominican Republic), will be available to answer questions about the Peace Corps application process. With new openings posted in November, this is the perfect time for UWRF students and community members to explore the Peace Corps as an international service opportunity.
The Peace Corps is a volunteer program run by the U.S. government that sends Americans abroad to work in underserved communities, focusing on education, health, the environment, agriculture, youth development, and economic development. Founded in 1961 by President John F. Kennedy, the organization's mission is to promote world peace and friendship by providing technical assistance, helping communities meet their development needs, and fostering mutual understanding between Americans and people of other countries.
