2011, The Wisconsin State Legislature passed Act 166, which requires the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) to produce an annual report of Wisconsin's education preparation programs. The report includes information about:
- Candidates who completed the Educator Preparation Program.
- Candidates who applied for a Wisconsin license.
- Candidates who were employed in a Wisconsin public school.
- Statewide test results for all test takers.
It's important to note that the employment data in the EPP report only includes licensed graduates who were hired by public schools in Wisconsin. About 70 percent of UW-River Falls Educator Preparation Program graduates applied for licensing outside of Wisconsin. The university's close proximity to the Twin Cities provides our students graduates with valuable opportunities to succeed in finding employment in a wide variety of venues outside of public schools. These include clinics, daycare centers and private schools, among others. The state of Minnesota does not provide employment data to the university.
