ATP and Workday: Pathway toward Process Improvement

Universities of Wisconsin campuses have often relied on outdated, disconnected technology and supplemental systems to complete vital processes and tasks, which increases staff burden, limits data accessibility, leads to security risks and hinders us from fulfilling our mission. The Administrative Transformation Program (ATP) is intended to reverse this trend.

Why ATP?

ATP is dedicated to reducing the complexity of the current administrative environment and refocusing valuable staff time towards UW universities' mission of education, research and outreach. Rebuilding finance, human resources and research administration systems and services will impact every institution within the Universities of Wisconsin and Workday is the tool that we’ll use to get us there.

Following the implementation of standardized processes and new technology, all 13 campuses will benefit from:

  • Streamlined and simplified administrative functions
  • An improved user experience for administrative staff
  • More trustworthy data to inform decision-making
  • Reduced risk related to audits and information security

Workday

Information exploring functions within Workday will be shared with UWRF employees on an ongoing basis. Watch Falcon Daily for communication on specific business processes impacted by the change to Workday.

ATP’s newest engagement series, What’s Changing, will highlight changes and benefits to working in Workday. These short videos will help build your Workday knowledge and awareness before training begins in 2025. Watch for new videos and resources coming soon!

Training

A faculty and staff training schedule will be released in early 2025, with training expected to begin in spring and early summer. The anticipated go-live date is July 2025. Learn more at the Universities of Wisconsin ATP website.
