Welcome Home!
When you’re here, you’re home. We’re a highly residential campus with approximately 2,500 students living on campus each year, meaning you’ve got a built-in community right here on campus. From the sprawling South Fork Suites to newly renovated May Hall, our 11 residence halls are designed to provide you with a terrific residential experience.
What we are:
- Vibrant: Our residence halls are vibrant communities bursting with opportunities to participate in floor and hall programs. In addition to a variety of social and educational events hosted throughout the year, our residence halls are also home to a variety of Living and Learning Communities.
- Safe: Residence hall doors are locked 24/7 with the exception of designated move-in and move-out times. Resident Assistants monitor student safety and residence life staff and University Police are available around the clock to respond to emergencies.
- Convenient: There are many perks to living on campus, including proximity to your classes! All halls are smoke-free and have facilities for students with disabilities. They also include fully furnished rooms, high-speed wireless internet, free unlimited laundry, trash and recycling features and common spaces for cooking, studying and socializing.

Important Things to Know
Live close to campus? If you live at your permanent address with your parent(s) or a legal guardian and your residence is within the approved commuting zip codes (or within 40 miles as verified on Google Maps), then you can request to commute. Viisit https://www.uwrf.edu/ResidenceLife/ContractRates/CommuterPolicy.cfm to view the full policy or check zip code.
We require first and second-year students to live in university residence halls. This policy doesn’t apply if you are 21 years of age or older or graduated from high school two years prior to the start of the housing contract. Veterans, married students or students with extenuating financial or personal circumstances can request exemption from this policy. View more information and find exemption request forms at https://www.uwrf.edu/ResidenceLife/ContractRates/2-Year-Residency-Requirement.cfm.
Students (including first-year students) may purchase a residential or commuter parking permit through our Parking Department. Rates vary depending on the lot and are sold on a first-come, first-served basis so if you’re interested, put this on your to-do list!
