What are my engineering options at UWRF?

Bachelor of Science in Engineering: We offer high quality engineering degrees in ABET-accredited programs that meet globally recognized industry standards:

  • Environmental Engineering – Gain the skills needed to help solve complex environmental problems by designing sustainable systems to improve our air, water, soil and the habitats that support life.
  • Agricultural Engineering – Applicable to a number of industries, this program is about more than just agriculture! You’ll be prepared to pursue your passion. Maybe you’ll design the next generation of off-road and precision field machinery or help develop safe, quality food and process systems, like those that transform corn into biofuel or milk into nutritional drinks? Or maybe you’ll design systems that protect and restore water and other natural resources? Your options are limitless!

Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology: Are you more technically inclined and interested in a more hands-on, problem-solving approach? You can apply your engineering knowledge to real-world problems in one of our engineering technology programs.

Bachelor of Science in Physics or Chemistry with a Dual Engineering Degree: These are popular options for students interested in a field of engineering that we don’t offer but who still want the support and experiences UWRF provides.

  • You’ll take your first two to three years of classes at UWRF then shift to taking classes in your specialization from one of our partners schools, including UW-Madison, University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, University of Minnesota-Duluth, UW-Milwaukee or UW-Platteville. Upon completion, you’ll graduate with two bachelor’s degrees - one from each institution!

Pre-Engineering Options: Begin your engineering path with us, even if you plan to transfer to a different engineering program that we don’t have a dual degree arrangement with. You can earn credits at an affordable price, learn from experienced faculty and take advantage of small class sizes and hands-on, experiential learning, with personalized advising that helps you achieve your engineering goals. Many pre-engineering students enjoy their UWRF experience so much they decide to stay and pursue a degree at UWRF!
